Footfall across all four towns experienced a slight year-on-year dip in September, reflecting broader seasonal trends. However, cumulative year-to-date (YTD) figures remain stable or slightly ahead of 2024 in most areas, indicating a resilient and consistent level of visitor engagement throughout the year.
- Farnham recorded 389,666 visits in September, down 2.6% YoY, but the town’s YTD total reached 3.52 million, showing a 0.44% improvement over 2024.-
- Cranleigh saw 134,543 visits, a 1.96% drop from last September. Despite this, YTD footfall stands at 1.24 million, up 0.73% YoY — a strong indication of steady foot traffic over time.
- Godalming experienced a 3.3% decline with 282,463 visits, making it the only town with a marginal YTD decrease (-0.04%), now sitting at 2.70 million.
- Haslemere recorded 119,210 visits, down 2.86% YoY, but continues to maintain positive momentum overall, with YTD footfall up 0.31%, reaching just over 1.04 million.
Overall Total: Combined footfall for all four towns reached 925,882 for September 2025, slightly lower than September 2024 (952,172), but YTD totals rose slightly to 8.50 million, up 0.31% from the same point last year.
While September showed minor declines in individual town figures, the broader trend across 2025 continues to reflect a stable and engaged visitor base, positioning these locations well heading into the final quarter of the year.
